ART JOURNALING

Art journal page tutorial with acrylic paints

Looking for a new home

This mixed media mini art journal page was created with transparent acrylic paints, gesso, watercolor, doodling and paper collage. To see how I made this layout, click the link to Youtube timelapse video tutorial at the end of this page.

LIST OF SUPPLIES

- white paper for pencil drawing, 120 g/m2
- pieces of an old book page
- glue stick
- pencil and eraser
- black ball point pen
- stencil (wood grain pattern)
- transparent acrylic paints: blue, yellow, red and white (mine are made by Flying Tiger, which is a Danish brand, but you can use any transparent paint you like, for example Distress paints by Tim Holtz)
- sponge dauber for spreding paint
- white gesso
- watercolors
- gold foil (recycled chocolate wrap will do) - alphabet stamps - black ink of your own choise - 0.7 black waterproof pigment liner (Staedtler)
- water soluble black marker, water and a paint brush for shadowing

HOW TO MAKE THIS ART JOURNAL PAGE

I started with doodling the houses, then I painted the backround and added rest of the details. Remember to let the paint and gesso splatters dry completely before using markers! Clean your stencil and the sponge dauber immediately after use with warm water.
